Although we are willing to research and produce swords from any period, we specialize in the La Tene or Early Celtic Iron Age period.
Research
With a signed "Intent to Purchase" form, we will research your project to the best of our ability. Though is some cases this may not take much additional time, for other pieces this may mean hours spent sifting through information to find the facts on your sword. We would ask that if we are providing research and design drawings for your project, that you not use that information to order from another smith. Although they may offer a lower price with the design provided for them, part of the cost of the finished project involves the time Iron Age Armoury spent researching and designing your sword.
How our Swords are Produced
When you contact Iron Age Armoury about starting a sword for you, we will begin with a discussion of what you want. If you have pictures, dimensions, etc., we will create a drawing based on that information.
If you only have a name, description, or picture, we will begin researching your sword and then based on our research will create a drawing for your project. 
Once the project drawings and specifications have been approved, a quote for the piece will be given. Once a deposit is recieved, production on your sword will begin.
Our sword blades are created using stock removal (some forging may be done depending on the finished shape of the blade). If we are unable to produce the blade in our shop due to equiptment, time, or cost limitations, the blade will be sent to Mark at Ollin Sword Design for production. Any cost incurred because of this will be included in the quoted project price.
