A large number of this style of blade was found at Port, and they feature a good deal of minor variation. There are five distinct tip shapes; round, apple seed shaped, long, double curved, and a modified triangle. Below are examples of the round, long, and apple seed. Another area we see variation is with the fuller termination. Some fullers extent all the way up and into the hilt, while others stop just before the guard plate. The opposite termination also varies, some curve in to follow the tip shape and others end showing two distinct fuller terminations. All the blade illustrations below have a small spherical pommel, but also seen is a larger variation and some with just a normal peened end. The variations between tip shape, fuller termination, and pommel types seem to have no relationship with each other.
