Falcata

My plan is to have three blades made and modify each slightly to give each its own identity.  Pictured below is a design that has been dubbed the Crane for pretty obvious reasons; what seems to be an animal that is common in the Iberian iconography.  Bone would be most likely used for the hilt, and would be carved to give features like wings.  The bone might also be browned on the outer surfaces with a flame to highlight the carving.  The second variation would be the Crow; another very common animal depicted in the Iberian iconography.  The blade would be shortened in the tip and more angular, the beak would be reshaped, and it would be hilted with carved black water buffalo horn.  The final blade would have a more rounded spine and either a simple organic common styled horse head or a later period more stylized horse head.  Most likely I will be keeping either the Crane or Crow variation for myself.
